Our Mission

Making Professional
Trust Verifiable

We believe every professional deserves a reliable way to prove what they know — and every employer deserves confidence in who they hire.

The Problem We Solve

Certificate Fraud Is a Real and Growing Problem

Studies show that up to 1 in 3 CVs contains at least one inaccuracy, and outright certificate forgery is rising with the availability of cheap document editing tools. For companies, making a hire based on a fake credential can mean financial loss, legal liability, and reputational damage.

For honest professionals, the asymmetry is frustrating: your genuine qualifications look no different from fraudulent ones on a PDF. There was no simple, trusted way to say: "Here — this has been independently verified."

That is exactly why we built CerVault.

Our Story

Why We Built CerVault

CerVault started with a simple observation: the job market relies almost entirely on self-reported credentials. Certificates are sent as PDFs via email, screenshots on LinkedIn, or verbal claims in interviews. There is no universal source of truth.

We built CerVault to close that gap. Our approach is straightforward: a professional submits their certificate with a link to the official verification source. A qualified human reviewer at CerVault cross-references the submission, validates authenticity, and marks it as verified. The result is attached to the user's public profile permanently.

For companies, this means a single URL replaces hours of manual background checking. For professionals, it means their genuine effort and expertise finally has the visibility it deserves.

We handle every step with care: your documents are stored securely, your personal data is processed in compliance with EU GDPR, and we never share your information without your consent.

Our Principles

What We Stand For

Trust

Verification is worthless if the verifier cannot be trusted. Every CerVault reviewer follows a rigorous, documented process. We never skip steps or automate decisions that require human judgement.

Privacy

Your identity documents and certificates are yours. We use them only for verification, store them securely, and you can request deletion at any time. EU GDPR compliance is not optional — it is foundational.

Transparency

We are clear about what we verify, how we verify it, and what our badges mean. We publish our verification process and provide reviewer notes with every decision so users understand the outcome.

Verification Process

How We Verify a Certificate

Our process is thorough, transparent, and documented at every step.

01

Submission

A user submits their certificate name, issuing body, issue date, and — critically — the official URL where the certificate can be independently verified (e.g. the credential ID link provided by Coursera, Credly, or the issuing body's own portal). Submission is completely free.

02

Source Verification

Our reviewer navigates to the official verification URL provided by the user. They confirm that the certificate exists, matches the user's name and date of birth, and is still in valid status (not expired or revoked).

03

Cross-Reference Check

Where available, the reviewer cross-references against a secondary source — such as the issuing body's public lookup tool or official registry — to confirm the result is not a spoofed verification page.

04

Decision & Notes

The reviewer marks the certificate as Verified, Rejected, or Pending (if more information is required). A note is added explaining the outcome. Verified certificates receive a permanent, tamper-evident badge on the user's public profile.

05

Notification

The user is notified by email with the outcome. If rejected or pending, the note explains why and what they can do. Verified certificates are immediately visible on the public profile.
